With the end of the year quickly approaching, many of us start to think about our New Year’s resolutions to improve ourselves. You might set ambitious goals and feel excited to start a new year, but as January goes by you find it difficult to stick to them. If this is you, you’re not alone. Let’s change that this new year by transforming those goals into a lasting lifestyle!
This semester, we had record-breaking attendance in our Intramural Leagues and Tournaments, with an additional 200-250 participants compared with previous years. This incredible turnout made it our most successful season ever! We also received overwhelming sign-ups for our tournaments and Inclusive events. The semester started strong with our Pickleball Tournament, which attracted nearly 60 participants and set the tone for the rest of our tournaments.

Tidepools are isolated pockets of water found amongst intertidal zones along the coast. They can range from inches to several feet deep and house all sorts of sea life, such as marine animals during low tide. And while tidepools are generally safe for us to explore, it is vital to be cautious of the wildlife in our exploration.

As the end of the semester approaches, so does finals season. It’s easy to let your workout routine slip when you’re stressed out about exams but maintaining your physical and mental health is more important than ever. The idea is to strategically split up your weight training to target all major muscle groups in one week. Luckily, there are a variety of options for breaking up your workouts within a seven-day cycle. You can determine your splits depending on your goals, level of experience and the amount of time available.

Being mindful of your limits is essential to a healthy body. However, nowadays, many people tend to take on too much at once, leading to symptoms of burnout, depression or even anxiety. Although, having a positive mindset can help in avoiding the negative side effects of a busy lifestyle!

However, having a more complete understanding your fitness journey can be vital to overcoming barriers that come up when going to the gym. One of the first steps to this journey is identifying your preferred training type and tailoring it to align with your fitness aspirations.
Owen’s Condition for Tuition is back for its 13th year, and the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) is excited to share some remarkable news – a surge in student participants! In the previous academic year, 4,828 students embraced the challenge. And this year, the enthusiasm continues to soar, with an impressive 5,000 students already signed up!
IDEA World is one of the largest and most iconic fitness conferences in the nation. With over 250+ lectures and workshops, 150+ presenters, opportunities to connect with peers and expand your community, IDEA World is the home to many who wish to expand their knowledge and network in the fitness industry. With their mission, “experience movement for your body, mind, soul, career, community and the world”, IDEA world not only teaches in a traditional sense, it also gets participants up and moving for hands-on practical learning.
