The 4th Annual Fitness Challenge is an event that will test your overall speed, agility, and strength on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) in the Main Gym A from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The program consists of five challenges designed to demonstrate your physical strength and motivate you to continue to work out and improve your physical health. The five challenges are: 1-minute push-ups, 1-minute sit-ups, Jam Ball toss, shuttle run, and broad jump.
Fitness Coordinator Maureen MacRae expresses that this is a time where students can really show off their strengths in each challenge. “Students can compete with fellow SRWC members, show off their physical strength, and get motivated to start the New Year off in a healthy and positive way,” she said.
Students can choose to do all five of the events or as many as they want. There will be individual male and female winners for each event and one overall male and female winner for those competing in all five events. The prizes include: free personal training sessions, free Bod Pod tests and SRWC back packs.
Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor, Jennifer Ratanapratum said, “Students should participate in the Fitness Challenge as a health goal for the beginning of the semester to boost motivation and utilize this event as a public statement to maintain accountability.”
There are no pre-sign-ups required for this event, so students can show up anytime between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to compete. Good luck!
