The CW’s longest TV show, Supernatural, is reaching its finale and the culmination of everything the directors, actors, writers, and producers put in for 15 years is finally coming to an end this year.
Supernatural is a dark fantasy television series that began in 2005 and is scheduled to end in 2020. It was supposed to end in May, but was delayed due to COVID-19. The final seven episodes will air starting on October 8th and will most likely end in December.
The story is about two brothers named Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) who hunt supernatural beings all over America. Not only do they hunt monsters, the Winchesters also save lots of people because it is right and it is what they were destined to do. Their journey has been incredible; they’ve hunted ghosts, monsters, demons, angels, and all-powerful beings. They saved the world many times. Along the way, Sam and Dean have made friends with an angel named Castiel (Misha Collins) and a Nephilim (half-human and angel) named Jack Kline (Alexander Calvert). After many years, the last enemy the Winchesters will be facing is God (Rob Benedict) himself.
Why is God the final antagonist for the final season? The reason is that God is a writer and whatever he writes comes true. God has been manipulating the lives of the Winchesters from the very beginning because he wants to be entertained. It turns out that God loves watching the life of the Winchesters like a show, and he does the same to other versions of the Winchesters in other worlds across the multiverse. In the 14th season finale of Supernatural, the Winchesters see through his ploy and refuse to be manipulated by him so God decides to kill Jack and plunge the world into chaos by unleashing souls from Hell in retaliation for their defiance. The Winchesters managed to send the souls back to Hell, but God still has plans for them. His plan for an ending for his favorite show is to have the Winchesters kill each other in a spectacular way. To fight God, the Winchesters are now working with the entity Death who has resurrected Jack and is helping him become strong enough to kill God.
On September 11, Supernatural actors Padalecki and Ankles finally finished the last day of filming. Due to the hard work they put in for 15 years, they each received a final parting gift, a 1967 Chevrolet Impala, the very same car used in the show.
Let’s give a hand for the wonderful work the many members of the Supernatural crew have put in for 15 years!
