Comic books have been around for a good while now. But never have they been so in the forefront like today. In the past six years, Marvel’s Avengers have really taken over Hollywood. There are at least two movies every year about a Marvel character. And millions of us flock to see them. “Avengers: Infinity War” is the latest release of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It passed approximately $700 million in the worldwide box office. This movie introduces the biggest villain yet: Thanos. Although we have seen him before, this time we really get to see his real effect on the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Instantly you feel his overpowering presence.
The movies’ action sequences are great, as expected, and the movie does a good job of pulling at your heartstrings.
The movie continues with Thanos wanting to obtain all of the six “infinity stones,” which when he does, will give him god-like powers. If he gets all the gems, he can take over the entire universe, and once he does, he will eliminate 50 percent of all the life in the universe. During the whole movie, the Avengers are reminded of how they are no longer a unit but two separate teams led by Steve Rogers and Tony Stark. Consequently, they struggle to defend the world because they are divided. In one of the scenes, Thanos hurts Tony so badly that he’s dying and Thanos is about to kill him, but that’s when Dr. Strange gives him the stone, allowing Iron Man to live. Meanwhile, the world is ending. I immediately thought that if Iron Man died, I’d stop watching any Marvel movies because he is my favorite superhero.
Whether you have seen any of the movies before or not, it is easy to get pulled in; the action starts instantly. The first scene brings a catastrophic end to a few critical characters in the series, letting you know that no one is safe. It brings Thanos with Thor and Loki, as Thanos is so powerful that he kills Loki as if he were stepping on an ant. Just like that, the MCU is changed. This movie also ties in all other worlds in the MCU, it’s a smooth yet strong tie-in. If you’ve seen the other movies, they really have a smooth transition to the “Infinity War” duology. The movies’ action sequences are great, as expected, and the movie does a good job of pulling at your heartstrings. Moments of awe are just as common as breathtaking moments of concern.
At the end of the movie, Thanos gets what he’s always wanted: the six infinity stones. He commences his genocidal plan, eliminating several of the Avengers, including Star-Lord, Spider-Man, Vision, Black Panther and many more.
There are many critical moments that have you at the edge of your seat. Riveting plot twists and turns. All bets are off. You don’t know what is going to happen next.
I think this was a really good movie, but very stressful and suspenseful. It has me thinking of the next “Infinity War” movie and how there is a chance for the superheroes to come back, since all Thanos has to do is snap his fingers and have them brought back. I have hope that all the superheroes that died will come back and I can’t wait for the next movie.
There are many critical moments that have you at the edge of your seat. Riveting plot twists and turns. All bets are off. You don’t know what is going to happen next. That’s a sign of a good movie. They did a good job of paying respect to the entire MCU while still keeping the focus of the movie. The Avengers are facing their biggest foe to date and they definitely have their work cut out for them.
If you have not seen it yet, I highly recommend that you do. Besides, you’ll get to see very good-looking men like Robert Downey Jr.
